It’s what keeps Howie’s Michelada moving forward. Growing up in a big family it only made sense to extend our family to the community of Bakersfield and beyond. Being in the service industry for over 15 years hard work is ingrained in me, to give customers the best service and quality.

Bartending is life!

It was a way to express creativity and to meet new family, and friends, While working at a local bar The Mint, they allowed me to express myself, experiment with new drinks, perfecting my craft.

Where it all started…

I used to dislike tomatoes and anything tomato-related. But as I grew older, my friend made me try a Michelada. It changed my life and I became obsessed with perfecting the recipe. Through trial and error, I developed the recipe I use today. Adding too much of anything can ruin a drink.

I decided to enter a Michelada Festival contest in my hometown of Bakersfield, CA with the support of my family at The Mint. Surprisingly, we won 2nd place the first two times, and finally got 1st place in 2018. This marked the beginning of my journey.

Turned into reality with a nudge from my partner we knew it was time to start our new journey!
